Now, when I am building homepage for out project, we need to decide what LEMA SCHOOL 'project domain' is.
I think there is a documents which we can get information about project domain.
I already read roughly, but I might be able to be wrong.
Please let me know how you guys are thinking.

1. Selective Dissemination of information : we are using student's data, and based on query messages, System will show relevant
information.
2. Data Analysis : Based on data, we have to show users ( students, parents, and teachers) statistical information such as graph or charts
3. Activity Monitoring and Control : System should monitor student's status. Then, based on the status, system should send parents
warning messages ( if student absent, parents will get message)
4. Reference Service and FAQ : One of purpose of this project is more interaction between parents with school. Therefore, I think FAQ
service is necessary ( i am not sure what kind of FAQ services are needed).
In addition, one of requirements was supporting parents to help their children's homework.
I will wait for your precious opinions.

1) Selective Dissemination of Information: I definitely agree that there is an element of this in our project, however I'm not sure that the queries actual count. General what I think of with selective dissemination is that the application decides what information each entity needs and sends it to a place they can find it or notifies them of it in some way. For example the Cell phone and email alerts to parents that a child was absent X times this quarter would fall into this. However a teacher going in and asking the database for a report is what I"m not sure falls into this category. I'm interested in others opinions on this.
2) Data Analysis - Definitely agree here the system will have to take data that isn't completely in the form we need it and derive the type of data the teachers need. (Example raw data that says if the student was on time or late each day to how many times they were late this quarter.
3) Activity Monitoring and Control: Agree with Teawon from above.
4) Reference Service and Faq: Teawon I disagree on this one. If you look at the descriptions of the projects in this category they were ones where students would input questions attempting to find answers to them in the database. This system doesn't really need to do that. (BTW I think the thing about supporting parents to help their children with homework was more just letting their parents know they had homework and what it was, nothing this complicated is needed.)
Others I think should be included as well:
5) Data Migration: This is a possibility if we build a separate database that combines the information from all the other programs.

1) I am sorry, I cannot fully understand. However, story is like this. When parents assign the system, they have to choose one of methods
for noticing service. If parent 'A' chooses 'cell phone', when their children absent in class, message will be sent automatically.
In addition, teachers and parents will use Web based service to see REPORT about their children. In this case, based on query (what they
want to see in report), report will be shown; I think the each report for teachers and for parents will be different.

4) I have to see project description again, but when I discuss with the client, they want us to build homework supporting system for parent to
help their children's homework. This service is supposed to work by cell phone or computer. One example, client mentioned, was that
service will provide Alphabet of words.
In addition, in meeting, one of important purposes was making parents join children's school life. Now, because there are a lot of parents
who don't know English well, they don't like talk with teacher by phone. So, they just get information of children's school life from children,
not from teachers. In short, interaction between teachers and parents is really important function in this project.

1, 2, and 3 all seem good to me, but I think that the "Reference Services and FAQ" is literally referring to a FAQ page which would include a query text box and some logic to decide which FAQ pages are most relevant to the search. Although I wasn't at the meeting, I haven't read anything from the summary that indicates that we need to build a FAQ page (it would be nice to have, but I think it's outside the scope of our project).
I was thinking that we might add the Data Migration domain because we may be using information taken from one of the systems already in place for the teachers. We may have to convert it as we see fit to make the requested reports, assuming we get access to their sites...
I noticed that the client suggested a potential COTS. So we may also need to add "COTS Package Extension," but not yet.
